Ronald McDonald House Celebrates the Holidays
The holidays is an especially sad time to be sick. For children and their family staying at the Ronald McDonald House are just as bummed to have to miss the delicious holiday foods and the festivities that come with the events.
Fortunately for families staying in the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, a Christmas Party was jointly planned by volunteers and families staying there. The event included a Christmas pizza dinner. The highlight of course were the many sweets that included cakes and candies.
I distributed books about "Charlie the Courageous" which were donated by the author Joslynn Jarrett-Skelton. The story is about a young girl named Charlie who was born blue, and subsequently needed heart surgery. Charlie had super powers that only she knew, and she wore her heart scar proudly. The book teaches children to llove and accept each other's differences.
Happy Holidays, everyone!!
